‘Ultimate’ Instructional Design
...learn to think in colour
September 19th - RBS Williams F1 Conference Centre
Course outline:
Part 1 - The Experience
We have enlisted the help of Williams Formula1 and will experience the Pit-Stop challenge.
As a group we will learn the technicalities of a Pit Crew using a Formula1 racing car
(we will use a real Formula1 racing car from the RBS-Williams Collection),
we will experience a learning activity like no other.
Individuals within their teams have to organise and enact their plans and meet extremely tight targets.
Whilst highly challenging, it is a galvanising experience with many learning points.
Part 2 - The Instructional Design
In every learning experience different people learn different things in different ways.
We will identify who learned what, why and how.
We will identify the learning models and theories employed in the experience and the styles of the trainers.
We will explore how the learning may have been different, how we could have used a blended approach.
We will discuss with the Pit-Stop team leader his objectives and compare our learning outcomes.
Part 3 - The Outcome
We will explore the outcomes & how to implement what we have learned into the courses we deliver.
Each delegate will create their own plan of action to ensure the learning of experience of the day is passed to others.
Many courses teach the basics, the models, the theories and then put them onto practice.
This course is upside-down, first we experience then understand the experience.
No better way to understand the Design of Instruction.
